How Dysport Works

Dysport is made of botulinum toxin, a specialized neurotoxin protein that blocks communications between nerve endings and targeted muscles, thus relaxing the contracted muscles, which can soften the appearance of the associated wrinkles.

Your Experience
Your Dysport session starts with a consultation with our medical providers, who will examine your facial skin, discuss your goals, and curate a personalized treatment plan. After cleansing your skin, the medical provider will inject calibrated units of Dysport into the targeted facial muscles using ultrafine needles. The number of injections depends on your goals. You may feel a pinch, but there’s no pain. The treatment usually concludes within 15 to 30 minutes.
Recovery & Side Effects
Dysport treatments involve minimal post-treatment side effects and recovery time. You may resume your daily activities and work immediately, but you should avoid strenuous workouts for a day or two. You may experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising around the injection sites, but these side effects dissipate within a few days. You can also use cold compresses to reduce swelling, but please don’t massage your face.
The Dysport Results
The results of your Dysport treatment might start becoming visible after 3-4 days, with continued improvements for up to 14 days. Once the results become final, your facial skin will look smoother and more youthful. The final results last for 3-4 months, following which your wrinkles will start appearing again. You can repeat the treatment 3-4 times per year to maintain smooth, youthful, wrinkle-free skin throughout the year.
