Meet Dr. Gavino
Meet Dr. Gavino, the founder, and lead dermatologist at Gavino Dermatology. Dr. Gavino is quadruple-board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, dermatopathology, and dermatology, making him one of the most highly qualified and experienced dermatologists in the field. He is a true expert and is dedicated to providing his patients the highest quality of care.
Dr. Gavino was born and raised in the Philippines, where he earned a medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, graduating valedictorian with magna cum laude honors. After completing his medical degree, he immigrated to the U.S. to pursue further training in his field. Our cosmetic dermatologist in Leander then completed an internship in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and then a postdoctoral research fellowship in immnuno-dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern at Dallas.
Quadruple-Board-Certified Dermatologist & Dermatopathologist
Dr. Gavino went on to complete residencies in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City and UT Southwestern Medical Center and in dermatology at UT Austin Dell Medical School. During his residency, he was voted by the faculty as the Most Outstanding First Year Resident during Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency and was Chief Resident during his last year of residency. He was also Chief Resident again during his residency training in Dermatology.
Dr. Gavino is also fellowship trained in dermatopathology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He received additional training in the diagnosis and management of hair loss disorders with the world experts in the field – Drs. David Whiting, Len Sperling, Wilma Bergfeld, and Antonella Tosti. With this extensive background and experience, our cosmetic dermatologist in Leander provides his patients with the most accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.
